CMSgt. Ralph Ildefonso, Jr.,79, a resident of Fishkill, died on July 14, 2017 at home.
Born on September 21, 1937 in the Bronx, Ralph was the son of Ralph and Lucy (Ortiz) Ildefonso, Jr.
Ralph proudly served our country in the United States Air Force for 43 years. He was the Chief Master Sergeant for the 105th Air Wing E9 at Stewart Air Force Base. He was also stationed at Westchester County, Bangor, ME and Seymour Johnson Air Force Base in North Carolina.
Ralph was a parishioner of St. Mary, Mother of the Church in Fishkill and was an avid fan of the New York Yankees, New York Giants and the New York Knicks. He played for the Air Force Baseball Team.
On September 16, 1957 in the Bronx, Ralph married the love of his life Esther Vega who survives at home.
Other survivors include his children, Steve and his wife Denise of Maryland and David and his wife Paula of West Harrison; his grandchildren, Stephen Clifford, Brianna Nicole, Christian Gabriel and Faith Trinity; his sister, Marylou Ildefonso; his niece, Marcia; his nephew, Willie; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Angie and Anthony Pascale; his nieces and nephews, Dawn, Cherise, Kenny and Danika. He was predeceased by his grandson, Steve, Jr.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 4-8pm at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill. The funeral service will be held on Thursday at 10am at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Milltown Rural Cemetery with military honors.
