The Perfect Dessert for Your Hudson Valley BBQ
On the 4th of July you may not be thinking of serving cookies for dessert but it turns out there is one cookie that would top any other choice for dessert. Yes, hard to believe that a cookie could beat a S'more but this one can and will definitely be a crowd pleaser.
The perfect 4th of July cookie is the Lemon Cooler. It pairs well with everything that we serve to celebrate our wonderful country. BBQ's typically serve ribs and burgers, hot dogs and beans with pasta salad, corn on the cob and potato salad all on one plate. Following all of those delicious entries and sides with a heavy dessert can leave your BBQ guests feeling like they over ate.
I have known a few folks to serve grilled fruit for dessert at a summer party. Again, very tasting but it is still fruit. People are at a party they are going to want a treat. So the Lemon Cooler cookies is the answer. The nice thing is you don't even have to make them because just about every cookie company now makes a version of the lemon cooler. Just head to the cookie isle in the grocery and take your pick.
