A 15-year-old hero killed in the Florida high school tragedy who had a dream of attending a college in the Hudson Valley was accepted.

Peter Wang, 15, was wearing his Army Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps uniform when he was killed in the mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida.

Wang, who was born in Brooklyn, had a lifetime goal to attend the United State Military Academy, according to West Point. On Monday, West Point posthumously offered him admission for his heroic actions on Feb. 14.

“It was an appropriate way for USMA to honor this brave young man,” the United States Military Academy said in a press release. “West Point has given posthumous offers of admissions in very rare instances for those candidates or potential candidate's whose actions exemplified the tenets of Duty, Honor and Country.”

Wang, an Army Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps cadet, was killed while holding the door for other students so they could escape the massacre, the Sun Sentinal reports.

Wang and two other classmates, Martin Duque and Alaina Petty, both 14, were all awarded the Medal of Heroism by the Army. All three cadets were killed during the Parkland school shooting.
