Following a two-car accident one teen is dead and another seriously injured after one car lost control and hit the pair who were waiting to be picked up from school.

Just before midnight on Wednesday, Suffern police responded to Route 202 near Wilder Road and Spook Rock Road. Upon arrival they found a two car and two pedestrian accident.

Police say both cars were traveling east on Route 202 near the Town of Haverstraw. A 2008 Honda, driven by 19-year-old Tzvi Hakakian, of Monsey was slowing down when a 2016 Lexus attempted to go around the Honda on the left side. Police believe the Honda slowed down to make a left turn.

The Lexus, driven by 24-year-old Jonathan Mosquera, collided with the Honda. The Honda continued heading east while the accident cause the Lexus to veer left.

The Lexus crossed the westbound lane, and hit two teens who were standing near the edge of a driveway. Both were seriously injured.

Marcos Tawil, 17, was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital where he was pronounced dead. David Maldanado was taken to Westchester Medical Center where he is listed in serious condition.

A grief counselor told WPIX that the teens are from Argentina and Mexico. They are in the Hudson Valley attending Yeshivat Tiferet Torah. They were standing in the school's driveway and waiting to be picked up when the crash occurred.

Police did not release if the drivers were injured.

The accident is under investigation.
