Teen Accused of Newburgh Murder Arrested in NYC Returned to Orange County
A teenager who was arrested in New York City after he allegedly killed a Newburgh man was brought back to Orange County.
On Aug. 1, 29-year-old Deandric M. Little was shot and killed on the corner of South Street and Chambers Street in the City of Newburgh.
City of Newburgh Police, New York State Police and the Orange County District Attorney’s Office investigated the murder. Police say the investigation led them to develop 17-year-old Devin T. Isaac of Newburgh as the murder suspect.
City of Newburgh Police obtained a warrant for Isaac’s arrest on second-degree murder charges.
Last week, Isaac was captured by the New York City Police Department in Staten Island. He was allegedly found in possession of a loaded handgun. He was charged with felony gun possession.
Wednesday, Isaac was transported back to Orange County. He was arraigned in City of Newburgh court and charged with second-degree murder. He was remanded to Orange County Jail without bail.
Police can’t confirm if the handgun New York City police found is related to the Newburgh homicide.
