Teen Accused of Newburgh Murder Arrested in New York City
A teenager who is accused of fatally shooting a Newburgh man was found and arrested in New York City allegedly with a loaded gun.
On Aug. 1, 29-year-old Deandric M. Little was shot and killed on the corner of South Street and Chambers Street in the City of Newburgh.
City of Newburgh Police, New York State Police and the Orange County District Attorney’s Office investigated the murder. Police say the investigation led them to develop 17-year-old Devin T. Isaac, of Newburgh as the murder suspect.
City of Newburgh Police obtained a warrant for Isaac’s arrest on second-degree murder charges.
On Thursday, Isaac was captured by the New York City Police Department in Staten Island. He was allegedly found in possession of a loaded handgun.
Isaac is currently facing felony weapons charges in New York City and will eventually be taken to the City of Newburgh Police to be processed on the murder charge.
Police can’t confirm if the handgun New York City police found is related to the Newburgh homicide.
