Roberta Rhea Pellegrino, a Poughquag Resident, Dies at 82
Roberta Rhea Pellegrino, 82, Poughquag, NY, passed away on September 7, 2017, at Vassar Brothers Medical Center surrounded by family and friends.
Known as Bobbie to most, she was born February 8, 1935 in Brooklyn, NY to Mr. & Mrs. Harry Ordan. Bobbie was a legal secretary for Irving Berman, Esq. and Harold Lachover, Esq. of Bronx, NY. Married in 1967 to Leonard Pellegrino, she then held several positions with the family construction business while raising her children. A teacher by nature, Bobbie is fondly remembered as a socially active wife and mother, putting others’ needs ahead of her own, and infusing her trademark sense of humor in her family’s adventures. Bobbie was a strong supporter of the local horse industry, fostering a love of horses and competition in her children and grandchildren. In recent years, she was a doting grandmother of 11 and great-grandmother to an ever-growing group of youngsters. She will be remembered as “always there for everybody.”
Survivors include husband, Leonard J. Pellegrino, of Poughquag; daughter, Ruth Cea of Carmel; son, Andrew Guild of Houston; daughter, Leah Struzzieri of Catskill; and daughter, Jennifer Barbee of Fresno.
The family suggests donations to the Alzheimer's Association or the American Heart Association in lieu of flowers. Visiting will be from 2-4 p.m. Saturday at the McHoul Funeral Home in Hopewell Junction, NY, with a non-denominational service at 4 p.m.
