A Red Hook couple have been charged with identity theft.

According to the New York State Police, 31-year-old Shelby M. Blanchard and her husband, 34-year-old Alan W. Blanchard, were arrested by state police at Rhinebeck on Monday at the state police barracks and charged with the alleged theft of property valued at more than $50,000.

New York State Police say the wife, Shelby was charged with 356 misdemeanor counts of identity theft. She was also charged with the felonies of grand larceny of property valued at more than $50,000, possession of a forged instrument and identity theft to obtain goods.

Once arrested, she was sent to the Dutchess County Jail and later released after posting $5,000 bail.

The husband, Alan Blanchard was charged with three misdemeanors including, conspiracy, petit larceny, and identity theft. He was issued tickets due back in Rhinebeck Town Court and released.

The couple will be back in town court at a later date.
