Police Investigate After Child Pulls Out Gun At Orange County Elementary School
It was a frightening situation at an Orange County elementary school, as police investigated after a child pulled out a gun.
On Monday around 8:58 a.m, the Town of Deerpark Police Department was informed that a student at Hamilton Bicentennial Elementary School located in Deerpark brought a gun to school and displayed it.
The gun turned out to be an Air Soft Gun, a replica toy guns which shoot plastic pellets and is generally used for recreation.
There is no threat to the school, students or faculty and the Air Soft Gun was recovered, police say.
While no charges have been filed authorities are continuing their investigation. Due to students ages more information wasn’t released.
The Town of Deerpark Police Department is working with the Orange County Law Department which handles matters in Family Court as part of this investigation.
