Police: Hudson Valley Man Drove Drunk With 2-Year-Old
An early morning bender led a Hudson Valley man to allegedly drive over two times the legal limit of intoxication with a 2-year-old in the car, police say.
Just before noon on Wednesday, members of the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office received a complaint about an intoxicated driver on Broadway in the Town of Esopus.
Deputies soon located the vehicle and identified Alfred N. Alo, 30, of Kingston as the driver.
An investigation at the scene revealed the Alo was operating the vehicle in an intoxicated condition, with a two-year-old child as a passenger, police say.
Authorities later allege that Alo was driving over two times the legal limit of intoxication.
Alo was charged aggravated driving while intoxicated - child passenger under the age of 16 years with a blood alcohol content level in excess of 0.18%, a felony, and driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor. Alo also received several undisclosed traffic violations.
Alo was arrested and transported to the Esopus Substation. He was arraigned in Town of Esopus Justice Court and released on his own recognizance.
