New York State Police in Middletown are investigating a hit-and-run car-pedestrian accident that left a 12-year-old girl injured. 

On Wednesday, Dec. 28 in the early morning hours, a 12-year-old girl was attempted to cross Route 209, in the Town of Deerpark, when she was struck by a car traveling northbound.

The car did not stop, police said.

The girl was brought to a hospital in Port Jervis by ambulance, before being airlifted to Westchester Medical Center where she was admitted with non-life threatening injuries.

New York State Police are seeking the public's assistance with the investigation, and asks that anyone with information to contact them at 845-344-5300.
