Orange County Woman Arrested for Beating Victim with Liquor Bottle and Hitting Police
An Orange County woman is accused of kicking, biting, and using a liquor bottle to seriously injure a victim. Police say she spit and kicked at Troopers while being arrested.
The New York State Police at Wurtsboro arrested 56-year-old Deborah L. Hodella, of Westbrookville, for 2nd-degree assault, a felony, 4th-degree criminal possession of a weapon, 2nd-degree obstructing governmental administration, 2nd-degree criminal contempt, misdemeanors, and a violation for harassment.
The arrest is the result of a domestic incident where Hodella allegedly hit another person in the head with a liquor bottle. She then bit and kicked that person causing serious injuries which required medical treatment at the hospital, police say.
While being arraigned, Hodella is also accused of spiting at and kicking a State Trooper resulting in additional charges.
Hodella was arraigned at Town of Mamakating Court and remanded to the Sullivan County Jail on $50,000 bond or $25,000 cash bail. She is scheduled to appear in the Town of Mamakating Town Court on June 7.
