New York State Film Tax Credit Extended Until 2024

The tax credit that entices much of the television and movie production work in the Hudson Valley has been extended to the year 2024.

The Hudson Valley Film Commission reports the benefit has had a massively positive effect on the New York economy, helping to create nearly 50,000 jobs in New York. Jobs in construction, catering, transportation, and other areas wouldn't exist in the area without the credit.

There are currently six feature films and an HBO miniseries filming in the area with more than a dozen additional productions in the works. The Film Commission is currently celebrating their 20th anniversary and has been a part of more than 500 productions over the years.

The trailer just debuted for The Dead Don't Die, a new zombie movie that filmed in the Hudson Valley last summer. Catch that this Hudson Valley-made film in theaters across the country on June 14.
