A missing Hudson Valley man whose wife was found dead in his car was found dead.

On Friday, Town of Poughkeepsie police confirmed George Grogan and his wife Audrey Grogan of Poughkeepsie are both dead.

On Friday, Town of Poughkeepsie police announced a deceased man found in the wooded area east of Bear Mountain Bridge is 59-year-old George Grogan.

Grogan's body was found Thursday as police and additional agencies continued to search in the area of Bear Mountain Bridge for Grogan who had gone missing since Sept. 27.

An autopsy of the unidentified male was performed by the Westchester County Office of the Medical Examiner on Friday. The Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed the body of the deceased male is George Grogan, police say.

Last Friday, Town of Poughkeepsie Police received a call from Grogan's son who told police his father told him he killed his mother, Audrey Grogan.

Police searched the Grogan's home on Shamrock Circle in Poughkeepsie but didn't find anyone inside.

The next evening, an employee of Bear Mountain State Park found a car that police believe was driven by George Grogan. According to New York State Police, a 2010 Dodge Caravan belonging to the Grogan's, bearing NY registration ANM7621, was found near the Bear Mountain Bridge in the area of Anthony’s Nose trailhead.

Inside the vehicle was an unidentified dead woman. Police also confirmed on Friday the body of the dead female is Audrey Grogan.
