A new HBO series set to film in the Hudson Valley seeks local talent.

Winona Ryder, John Turturro, and others are set to star in The Plot Against America, a six-part show based on the novel by Philip Roth. It follows an alternate American reality where the country is consumed by facism in the 1940s.

According to the Hudson Valley Film Commission, Grant Wilfley Casting is on the lookout for men and women 18 years and older to portray 1940's types. They're looking for people to play firefighters, and police officers along with farmhands, National Guard members and those of Jewish heritage.

Filming is planned for Monday, September 23rd through the 26th in Hudson, Kingston, Albany, Coxsackie and other parts of the area. A local wardrobe fitting is planned and you don't need to be available every day.

Since the time period is set in the 1940s, anyone interested in being part of the production will need to receive a haircut suitable for the times. No modern fades, braids or buzzcuts and women can't have any modern highlights.

This is a paid job and anyone interested in applying should email locations@gwcnyc.com and write 'HVFC UPSTATE FLYER' om the subject line. Include a photo of yourself along with phone number, height, weight, and clothing/shoe sizes. Please also note whether or not you're a member of SAG/AFTRA.
