John F. “Jack” Glynn, A Lifelong Newburgh Resident, Dies at 84

John F. "Jack" Glynn, a lifelong resident of Newburgh, New York, passed away on Saturday, December 24, 2016 at St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital, Newburgh, New York. Jack was the son of the late J. Leo and Mary Glynn. He was a Navy veteran. He retired from the US Postal Service. Jack was a life member of the Cronomer Valley Fire Department and served over the years as a Fire Commissioner and President. Jack is survived by his wife Carol of Newburgh, New York and Naples, Florida. He was also predeceased by his wife Margie Glynn in 1997, he is also survived by three sons; Jack, Jr. (Shirley) of New Windsor, Leo (Ellen) of Mahwah, NJ and Rory (Pam) of Newburgh, seven grandchildren; Lauren DiMaulo, Diane Murray, Jessica O'Connor, Michele Glynn, Patrick Glynn, Ally Glynn and Connor Glynn and five great grandchildren, Hannah and Morgan Murray, Will and Jamie DiMaulo, and Rory O'Connor. He was also predeceased by three brothers; J. Leo, Joseph, and Donald Glynn. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at Saint Patrick's Church, 55 Grand Street, Newburgh NY 12550. The family would like to thank the staff at St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital for the kind and thoughtful care extended to Jack in his final days. in lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in Jack's name to the Cronomer Valley Fire Department.
