New York Airports Suspend Flights to Fort Lauderdale Following Fatal Shootings
All flights between New York metro airports and the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport have been suspended in the wake of the shootings that took place Friday.
The Port Authority's website states that all service have been suspended to Fort Lauderdale from Stewart International Airport, John F. Kennedy International Airport, LaGuardia Airport, and Newark International Airport in wake of the fatal shootings that took place Friday afternoon.
According to reports, five people have been declared dead and eight injured. A suspect is in custody and police are investigating the incident.
The Port Authority is urging people to contact their air carrier regarding their flight information.
