Welcome Hudson Valley! This is Conor Walsh, host of In Touch, Townsquare Media of the Hudson Valley’s Award-Winning Public Affairs and Issues program.

This week on In Touch, we speak Dora Celestino and Mike Balles from the Council on Addiction Preventions and Education, CAPE for short. We talk about their latest New York State Opioid Response Grant, and how they are using this recognition to benefit their youth intervention programs.

We invite you to join us and listen to a previously recorded conversation between Dora, Mike and myself here on In Touch.

This has been this week’s edition of IN TOUCH, the award-winning public affairs and issues program that runs across Townsquare Media of the Hudson Valley radio stations. We want to give a big thank you to Dora and Mike For more information on CAPE, visit https://capedc.org/

The Council on Addiction Prevention and Education (CAPE) of Dutchess County has been awarded a second-year State Opioid Response Grant (SOR) from New York State’s Office of Addiction Services and Support (OASAS). This funding will allow CAPE to expand its initiatives to prevent and reduce youth substance use.

The Council on Addiction Prevention and Education (CAPE) of Dutchess County is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that has been serving Dutchess County since 1987. Established with only a few staff to meet the growing need for alcohol, tobacco, and other drug (ATOD) prevention/education services, the Council has now grown into a constructive framework for delivering prevention, education, and recovery services. Their goal is to promote positive change by raising awareness about the prevalence of addiction, helping the community recognize its far-reaching impact, and implementing evidence-based programs that are capable of addressing this issue effectively.
