I have never understood why people feel the need to touch things that aren't theirs or worse try to destroy something for no reason. This past week an example of what I am talking about happened in front of a local business.

The owners of the Awareness Shop in New Paltz, New York shared on social media that they recently had someone take pieces off a statue they have in their yard on Main Street. Their post was direct but also very polite considering what it appears the person in the video was attempting to do to their Black Cat.

Vandal Removes Pieces of a Statue in New Paltz

I feel like this is a good time to add that The Awareness Shop in New Paltz is known for its good vibes which makes this random act of what some might call mischief even more pointless. They are a Metaphysical shop that has been in business for decades. Their slogan is "a magickal place for magickal people". To say it simply they are our local Wiccan shop.

That being said I have to ask, what kind of person decides that they are going to mess with a witch's black cat? First off you are inviting bad karma. Secondly did you not think people would know what you did, nowadays everyone has critter cams or Ring cameras to catch you being bad. So now everyone knows you can be thoughtless, probably not your best look.

This New Paltz Vandal Must Not Believe in Karma

It's no surprise that this person's senseless attempts to topple the cat are all caught on tape with audio. Not to mention that the person is also seen taking objects off the statue and throwing them around. One item removed was a pentace which was later found. The social media sign displayed has not been found but I suspect it is on the roof of the building next door (watch to the end).

If you watch the video you can see that after the objects were removed the person randomly tossed them about and my question is why? For what purpose? Why remove the items to simply throw them on the ground? What did this cat ever do to you?

I don't believe the person responsible or the friends who were complicit in the act because they didn't attempt to right the wrong have been identified or caught. No worries though I am confident that Karma will handle this display of disrespect. Seriously, this was not well thought out.
