Hudson Valley Man Tasered After Allegedly Stabbing Bar Employee
It was closing time and one Hudson Valley resident didn’t have to go home, but he couldn’t stay at P&G’s any longer. According to a press release from the New Paltz Police Department, 26-year-old Nicholas Mottsey of High Falls was taken into custody after allegedly stabbing a bar employee.
A New Paltz Police officer was making his rounds just after 4 AM Saturday night when he observed Mottsey refusing to leave the bar. The officer approached and watched as the suspect stabbed the unnamed employee. The situation was quickly diffused after the taser was deployed. Mottsey gave a fake name and address to the officer at the station and it turns out the police don't like that.
He now faces one count of assault in the second degree, a class D Felony, one count of Identity Theft in the 2nd degree (also a felony) and finally one count of criminal possession of a weapon in the 4th degree which is a misdemeanor.
