Hudson Valley Couple Facing Felony Cocaine Charges
A routine traffic stop led to felony cocaine charges for two Hudson Valley residents.
On Saturday around 4 p.m., New York State Police stopped a vehicle on I-87 near Woodbury for multiple alleged vehicle and traffic violations.
During the interview of the occupants, probable cause to search the vehicle was established, police say. Troopers later allegedly found 11 grams of cocaine.
The driver, Vikky H. Alcantar, 37, of Newburgh, and passenger, 38-year-old Victor Pacheco of Napanoch, were both charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony, and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor. Pacheco also received a misdemeanor charge of false personation for allegedly giving authorities a fake name.
Both were arraigned before the Town of Cornwall Court.
