FISHKILL – Frederick J. Squazzo, 90, died at home on January 2, 2018, surrounded by his family. He lived in Yonkers for 83 years before moving to Fishkill 7 years ago.

Born in Yonkers on November 22, 1927, Fred was the son of the late Frederick A. and Anna (Kelly) Squazzo. He proudly served in the US Army from 1946-1947. Fred was employed as the manager at Serv-U Market on Warburton Avenue in Yonkers. Fred retired from his security position at Yonkers General Hospital in 2007.

Fred’s life revolved around his much loved family, his friends, and numerous pets/grandpets. He was a passionate fan of the NY Mets and Giants. Fred’s sense of humor was a source of joy to many over the years.

On June 1, 1957 at St. Jude’s Church in Manhattan, Fred married Joan (Hayden) Squazzo. Fred and Joan happily celebrated their 60th anniversary this past June. He is also survived by his children, Patricia Lisewski and her husband Mark of Hopewell Junction, Katherine LePage and her husband Charles of New Milford, CT, Marianne Squazzo of Fishkill, and Frederick Squazzo and his wife Dena of Hopewell Junction; his four grandchildren, who were the light of his life, Kate Lisewski, Madison Keane, and Nicole and Jack Squazzo; his siblings, Dorothy Conca, Jean Milliot, Ann Cleary, and Joseph Squazzo and his wife Arlene; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Fred was also predeceased by his brother, Francis Squazzo and his sister, Geraldine Caruso.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2-6 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday at 10:30 am at St. Mary, Mother of the Church, 106 Jackson Street, Fishkill followed by military honors.
