On Wednesday the Seattle Seahawks announced that a former Marist football star would be joining their ranks.

Jason Myers was the primary kicker for the Red Foxes from 2009 to 2012. During his time at Marist, Myers was a three-time Pioneer Football League Honorable Mention selection, and he led the league in touchbacks for three years.  Myers is remembered for kicking a 49-yard field goal, which still holds the school record for the longest field goal in program history.

In 2015 Myers was signed by the Jacksonville Jaguars but was let go in October when he missed two field goals during a loss to the Rams. Now, the kicker has a chance at redemption after signing a reserve/future contract with the Seahawks.

Myers isn't the only Marist alum to make his way to the NFL. Terrence Fede, another Marist graduate, signed with the Miami Dolphins after graduation. Back in 2015 The Jaguars and Dolphins played each other, marking the first time two former Marist players faced each other in an NFL game.

The 2013 Myers returned to Marist for a visit during the 2016 season.
