Donald Francis Humphrey, of Millbrook, passed away on May 29, 2017.

He was born in the Bronx, New York, on September 5,1933 to William Kennedy and May Clair (Fichter) Humphrey. Don graduated from All Hallows High School and attended The University of Notre Dame and Fordham University. He worked in various positions for the Mobil Oil Corporation, retiring as a Senior Real Estate Analyst after 36 years.

Don is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Dorothy (Hahn). He is also survived by his three children, Donald Humphrey (Diane) of Warwick, William Humphrey (Nalini) of Hopewell Junction, and Linda Marshella (Tom) of Fairfield, CT. He also leaves his seven very loved granddaughters: Justine (Mike Zani), Jaclyn, Julia, Casey, Julianne, Kymberli, and Elizabeth, and also the newest addition to the family, his great-granddaughter, Laila. He is also survived by his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Marguerite and Robert H. Vatter of Pearl River; and a nephew, Robert Q. Vatter (Eileen) of Pearl River. Donald was predeceased by his brother, William K. Humphrey Jr.

Don was a supportive, loving man who put his family first. He was always in attendance at his granddaughters' sporting events, orchestra concerts, and dance recitals, even when they were on held Father's Day (which they usually were).

Donald loved following sports, especially boxing, baseball (the NY Mets despite being born in the Bronx) and hockey. He was such a devoted Islander fan, he would listen to their games on radio if not broadcast on TV. Don also was an avid fan of the NY Giants.
Don’s family would like to thank the employees at The Fountains of Millbrook for all they did for Don while he was a resident. A special thank you to Joan and Deb for all of your compassion and assistance.
