Construction recently started on long-awaited Chick-fil-A restaurant coming to the area.

For years now, it seems like there are two fast food chains that the Hudson Valley area has been clamoring to get, a White Castle, and a Chick-fil-A.

It seems whenever there are rumors about new fast food places coming in, these two restaurants get brought up the most. Personally, I'd rather see more Arby's restaurants in the Hudson Valley as there's only one in the area and it's in Newburgh, but that's just my opinion. But for lovers of Chick-fil-A, there's a new reason to be happy.

Headquartered in College Park, Georgia, Chick-fil-A is the largest American fast food chain specializing in chicken sandwiches, with nearly 3,000 restaurants across 48 states, as well as in the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico.

Chick-fil-A opened their second Westchester County location back in July in Yonkers at 2205 Central Park Avenue with their other Westchester location being at the Ardsley Travel Plaza on the New York State Thruway, which opened last year.

There is also one at the NY State Thruway Plattekill Travel Plaza. Other Chick-fil-A NY locations include one at Albany International Airport and a number along the Thruway at the Iroquois Plaza. There has also been talk of another location that if approved with a special pick-up design, would make it the biggest in the northeast.

Biggest Chick-Fil-A in the Northeast to open in Rockland County

Rockland Report reported that Chick-Fil-A was seeking approval to open in Nanuet with a special pick-up design that will make it the largest Chick-Fil-A in the northeast. They had hoped to open in mid to late 2024 off Route 59 in Nanuet. Well although later than expected, it looks like approval has been granted.

Chick-Fil-A to Open First Rockland County Location in Spring/Summer 2025

Rockland Report is saying that Rockland County, New York's first Chick-fil-A is coming to to the shopping plaza at 70 East Route 59 in Nanuet in spring/summer 2025. They report that the current shopping plaza is currently being knocked down and will make way for a 5,625 square foot Chick-fil-A restaurant with two drive-thru lanes, and meal order/delivery canopies.

*UPDATE Construction Started at Chick-fil-A Nanuet Site

Rocklad Report shared a posting recently form Town of Clarkstown Supervisor George Hoehmann, reporting that construction on the new Chick-fil-A had started, and that crews could be seen removing the old strip mall.

George Hoehmann wrote:

One of the questions I am most asked is when will Chick-fil-A come to the Town of Clarkstown? My administration worked to get folks connected and a deal was negotiated and the site was approved some time ago. The demolition of the existing buildings started in Nanuet this week. The anticipated opening is late spring to early summer of 2025. Looking forward to another new business in our town.
