Another Arrest Made in Justin Speights Murder Investigation
Another arrest has been made in the murder of Justin Speights. On January 1st 2016 Speights was stabbed at a party while trying to break up a fight during a New Years Eve party. He later died from his injuries.
In September, Robert A. Lemmount of Middletown was arrested for tampering with evidence. Lemmount had deleted electronic evidence the night after Speights death. Yesterday, 20 year old Rasso Chambers of Spring Valley. According to a press release, State Police arrested Chambers under one count of tampering with physical evidence which is a felony.
The investigation wielded evidence that Chambers deleted electronic evidence from his cell phone the night of January 1st when Speights was murdered. Chambers was arraigned before Town of Crawford Justice Jane P. Harrington and committed to Orange County Jail in lieu of $25,000.00 cash bail or $50,000.00 secured bond.
Justin Speights was a firefighter with the Silver Lake Fire District in Walkill. After his death, the Silver Lake Fire Department put out a $10,000 reward for any information regarding the party. Almost a year later and two arrest have been made.
