Angelo Damian, a Newburgh Resident, Dies at 82
Angelo Damian of the Town of Newburgh, a retired automobile mechanic entered into rest Monday, November 27, 2017 at St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital. He was 82.
The son of the late Rocco Serrano and Ventura Damian, Angelo was born May 16, 1935 in Arecibo, Puerto Rico.
Angelo was the owner and operator of Angelo’s Garage in Newburgh and the State of Florida. Earlier in his career, he worked for the former Broadway Garage in Newburgh.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Leonor Damian at home, daughter, Eileen Hughes and her husband, Sean of the Town of Newburgh, daughters Iris Serrano of Puerto Rico and Miriam Damian of Florida; sons, Felix Castro Jr. and James Castro both of Newburgh, brother, Selestino Torrez of Newburgh; grandchildren, Candice Stanford, Aisha Talley, Justin Castro, Kristian Castro, Natasha Castro, Milka Serrano, Jessica Serrano, Luisito Serrano, Glenda Serrano, Angel Antonio Serrano, many great-grandchildren, as well as nieces, nephews and cousins. He is predeceased by his daughters Iraida and Marta Serrano and his brother Freddie Serrano.
Private cremation took place at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
A celebration of Angelo’s life will take place, Saturday, December 2, 2017 from 3 to 5 pm at White, Venuto & Morrill Funeral and Cremation Service, 188 North Plank Rd., (Rte 32) Town of Newburgh to which family and friends are invited.
