Attention, all fans of comedy and people with scratchy voices. After stopping by Laugh it Up Comedy Club in Poughkeepsie to perform this past April, comedian Gilbert Gottfried is returning to the venue for a performance in January.

If you grew up in the '90s like me, you're probably most familiar with Gottfried's iconic voice through his role as Iago in Disney's Aladdin. But his comedy career goes way back, ranging from stand-up to television to movies to podcasts, and everything in between. (And if you haven't seen the 2004 documentary The Aristocrats, you owe it to yourself to watch Gottfried's part in the movie. Just not while any kids are around.)

Gottfried is one of the most popular comedians working today, especially among other comedians, so it's cool to see him coming back to the Hudson Valley so soon. Tickets are available at Laugh It Up's website, and only range from 20 to 25 dollars. They're going to be well worth picking up, and my bet is that they go pretty fast.
