8-Year-Old ‘Superhero’ From Beacon, NY Flips The Switch at Westchester’s Winter Wonderland
This past weekend seemed to be the perfect time to get into the holiday spirit. Houses all across the Hudson Valley have their holiday displays up and ready for viewing throughout their neighborhoods.
Drive-Thru Light Displays All the Rage in the HV
One of the best things to come out of the COVID 2020 Lockdown has to be the addition of drive-thru light displays across the mid-Hudson region. For years, the ERDAJT's Christmas Light Display on Patrick Lane in LaGrange was the go-to spot for Christmas light displays.
And while ERDAJT is coming back for another record-breaking year, there are a handful of other light displays to check out in and around the Hudson Valley, like Bethel Woods Peace, Love and Lights, or the Dutchess County Fairgrounds Wonderland of Lights.
Westchester's Winter Wonderland kicked off its drive-thru display this year on November 25th and got a little help from a local Hudson Valley superhero.
Beacon, NY 8-Year-Old Kicks off Holiday Season
According to ABC 7 NY, Chase Pultz of Beacon, New York flipped the switch on at Westchester's Winter Wonderland. ABC 7 reports that Pultz has been "a star patient at the Maria Fareri Children's Hospital at Westchester Medical in Valhalla" adding that the boy has had a tough few months.
However, Pultz tells ABC 7 "I'm good now."
On that fantastic note, watch below as Chase and his family help light up the first night of Westchester's Winter Wonderland:
Executive Director of Westchester Parks Foundation, Joe Stoute, tells ABC 7 that Westchester's Winter Wonderland has been extremely popular the last two years adding "Over the last two years we've had over 240,000 people come through here."
Stoute encourages visitors to drive two to three miles per hour while exploring the wonderland so they can "see all the little lights and you get to see all the different features" and of course to say "Hi" to Santa Claus,
