7 Hudson Valley Police Officers Decertified For Misconduct
USA Today compiled a list of over 30,000 police officers across the country that were banned.
According to USA Today, tens of thousands of police officers are investigated annually for misconduct. The misconduct can range from assault to drunk driving, planting evidence, and more. Prior to their list, there was no database of disciplined police officers.
Now, USA Today has compiled a list of police officers who lost their law enforcement certification across 44 states. Over 30,000 police officers are on the list. 7 of those police officers were located in the Hudson Valley.
According to USA Today, these are the 7 police officers who were decertified in the Hudson Valley:
Henry Finney, Putnam County Sheriff
Decertified in 2017
Reason: Removal during a probationary period for conduct that would have resulted in the removal of a permanent employee pursuant to other removal reasons
Michelle Nigro, Putnam County Sheriff
Decertified in 2017
Reason: An employee's resignation or retirement while a disciplinary process has commenced to pursuant
Bryan O'Gorman, Putnam County Sheriff
Decertified in 2016
Reason: Removal during a probationary period for conduct that would have resulted in the removal of a permanent employee pursuant to other removal reasons
Jennifer Pollack, Putnam County Sheriff
Decertified in 2017
Reason: An employee's resignation or retirement while a disciplinary process has commenced to pursuant
Ernst Tenemille, Ramapo Town Police
Decertified in 2016
Reason: A hearing held under section 75 of the Civil Service Law
Jacquelin Millien, Rockland County Sheriff
Decertified in 2017
Reason: A hearing held under section 75 of the Civil Service Law
Daniel Egan, Yonkers City Police
Decertified in 2016
Reason: A collective bargaining agreement, or any general, special, or local law, or charter provision in accordance with section 76 of the Civil Service Law
