7 High-Risk Sex Offenders Move in Hudson Valley
Authorities warned the public after seven high-risk sex offenders moved all over the Hudson Valley. Many raped teens and one is now a tenth of a mile from a local high school.
Anthony Arceri, a Level-3 Sex Offender moved from Broadway in Port Ewen to Brigham Lane in Lake Katrine. He raped a 13-year-old girl in Ulster County in 1997 and was sentenced to 2 to 6 years in prison.
Level-3 Sex Offender Alexander Carr moved to Snow Terrace in Poughkeepsie. He sodomized a 14-year-old girl in Orange County in 2002 and was sentenced to 30 months to 5 years in jail.
Meir Dascalowitz moved from Hempstead Road in New City to Quaker Road in Pomona. The Level-3 Sex Offender sexually abused a 13-year-old boy in 2013 and was sentenced to 5 years in prison.
John Peterson was released from the Franklin Correctional Facility in Malone and moved to a motel on Broadway in Port Ewen. The Level-2 Sex Offender raped two teenage girls in the early 2000s. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison. His new home is a tenth of a mile from Kingston High School, according to Google Maps.
Level-2 Sex Offender Mark Schmidt is now living on Briggs Highway in Ellenville. He previously lived on Old Ford Road in New Paltz. He raped a 12-year-old girl in Sullivan County in 2001 and was sentenced to 2 to 6 years in prison.
Charles Straub moved from Grand Street in Newburgh to Wells Farm Road in Goshen. The Level-2 Sex Offender raped a 14-year-old girl in 2009. He was sentenced to 5 years in prison.
Steven Cilento moved from the Westchester County Jail to Depew Street in Peekskill. The Level-2 Sex Offender sexually abused a 15-year-old in Putnam County in 2003. He was sentenced to 3 years probation. According to Google Maps, he lives near the Peekskill Coffee House, Peekskill Museum and Paramount Hudson Valley Theater.
