William D. “Tiny” Malcolm, age 60, of the Town of Newburgh entered into rest on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital.

The son of the late William Edward and Joan Lorraine (Boice) Malcolm, William was born April 29, 1957 in Newburgh.

Tiny as he was known to his family and friends was kind and gentle person who would always take the time to help where needed. A lifelong resident of the Town of Newburgh he was a retired auto mechanic and master engine builder who worked many years for Ernie’s Automotive in Wallkill, NY. He was also an avid race car enthusiast and was a pit crew member for several local area drivers at both Lebanon Valley Speedway and Orange County Fair Speedway. He was a member of NETO (North East Timing Organization.

In addition to his loving longtime companion Patricia A. Pompilio, William is also survived by a brother, Gary Malcolm of PA; three sisters, Cindy Nelson of the Town of Newburgh, Nancy Csubak of New Windsor and Diann Malcolm of the Town of Newburgh, uncle, Richard (Linda) Malcolm of Delhi, NY, two aunts; Anne Malcolm of Carey, NC and Joanne Malcolm of the Town of Newburgh, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Private cremation has taken place at Cedar Hill Crematory.

A Celebration of Tiny’s Life will take place on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 from 4:00 pm to 6:30 pm at White, Venuto and Morrill Funeral and Cremation Service, 188 North Plank Road (Rt. 32), Town of Newburgh. Funeral Service will take place at the Funeral Home at 6:30 pm, following visitation.

If desired, monetary contributions can be made to the family which will be sent to a charity of “Tiny’s” choice or to the American Cancer Society, 121 Executive Drive, New Windsor, NY 12553 (cancer.org/givehope).
