Ulster County Inmate Charged with Creating Fake Report
A man already jailed is facing more charges after police say he created a fake story involving burglary and larceny.
Jurgen J. Ladstetter, 45, formerly of Rifton was arrested on March 22, 2016 on charges relating to drug possession. Ladstetter was allegedly the driver of a large drug deal arranged from a man while he was imprisoned at the Ulster County Jail.
4 days after being arrested, Ladstetter filed a report with the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office from the jail, claiming he was the victim of a burglary and larceny. He reported someone broke into his residence, forced open a safe and stole a quantity of cash.
Police say an investigation proved the story was made up. Ladstetter was charged with 1st-degree offering a false instrument, 1st-degree providing false sworn statement, 2nd-degree perjury, felonies, and 3rd-degree falsely reporting an incident, a misdemeanor.
Ladstetter remains in the jail and will be produced on these new charges to Kingston City Court at a later time.
