A U.S. Marine was indicted for allegedly fondling a sleeping Hudson Valley college student.

Wednesday, an Ulster County Grand indicted Lance Corporal Kevin Guerrero, of the United States Marines, with sexual abuse, four counts of burglary and attempted burglary.

According to New Paltz Police, on Sept. 4 around 5:45 a.m., Guerrero entered a SUNY New Paltz woman’s off-campus apartment in the Village of New Paltz and sexually assaulted her as she slept. The woman woke up and Guerrero fled, police say.

The woman provided police with a description of Guerrero. New Paltz detectives soon learned there were two other incidents where a man forced his way into nearby apartments. In both cases, the intruder was spotted by residents before any further crime was committed.

Guerrero is also accused of breaking into a New Paltz business on Sept 4. He was arrested on Sept. 7.
