The Mysterious Pot Bus Spotted in New Paltz New York

If you spend any time in New Paltz, New York there is a really good chance you will see something there that you haven't seen anywhere else. People from New Paltz and people who spend time in New Paltz such as myself, pride ourselves on being open-minded which sometimes leaves us with a head-scratcher.

Head scratcher might be the case with the "Pot Bus" as some are calling it. It would be the bus that has been parking itself around town the past few days. The most talked about sitings are when it has been in the parking spot on Main Street in front of P&G's.

Dispensary Bus Makes Stops in New Paltz, New York

Over the past few weeks, there has been a lot of discussion about the possible opening of a Marijuana Dispensary in New Paltz but I don't recall anyone saying anything about a bus. From what I have been able to glean from social media posts and a little digging "The Pot Bus" is mobile, meaning it's there now but may be gone tomorrow. Apparently, they have a website DISPENSARYBUS.net

So what have I found out? Not much really. I have reached out to a few people who have seen it to get their take. I have also reached out to some Main Street businesses but have not heard back from any yet. I even put in a Facebook message to the New Paltz Police Department to see what they could share but I have heard back from anyone as of the publishing of this article. I will update you if I do.

Why is there a Marijuana Bus Parked in New Paltz New York?

I don't claim to have the most up-to-date information but here is what I do know. According to people who have inquired at the bus, they aren't selling marijuana or marijuana products. They are however selling people rolling papers and even a hug if you want one. All of the marijuana dispensary products are free. Kind of like a gift with the purchase of the other items or in the case of the hug a service.

I will be the first person to say that I know nothing about the current laws regarding Marijuana in New York State. I know it is legal and I know they are working out some details on how to sell it and that is where my knowledge ends. I have never been someone who cared much about marijuana but I have plenty of friends that do so I figured I would start asking some questions about the bus.

I haven't been able to get answers but I will update you when I do. Some of the things we all want to know are, how are they able to do this? Doesn't the Pop Up Store need a permit? Do any of the businesses near where they park wish they would park somewhere else? And my most curious question Why? Is this a stunt leading to an actual opening of a location in town or is it just a mobile service taking advantage of a town with no dispensary? Stay Tuned!
