New Roundabout in the Town of Fishkill, NY
According to the State Department of Transportation, a construction project is being planned to make intersection improvements in the Town of Fishkill.
One of the improvements would be to replace the existing signalized intersection at Routes 52 and 82 and construct a modern roundabout that would include a new sidewalk, crosswalks with pedestrian refuge islands, and curb ramps to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Project Benefits
The DOT believes that the addition of a roundabout would reduce traffic congestion while enhancing operations at the intersection, along with enhancing safety for motorists and pedestrians. The project would also provide streetscaping, such as landscaping and lighting.
