Rose Marvel, a Pine Bush Resident, Dies at 97

Rose Marvel of Pine Bush, passed away on Thursday, March 30,2017 with her loving family by her side. Rose was born in Newburgh, NY on March 23,1920 to the late John and Stefania Yazwenska Simonoski. Rose was married to the late Walter Marvel, they moved to Texas where she got a job driving for the U.S. Motor Pool. Upon returning to New Windsor, she became a machine operator for Sweet Orr and a devoted mother, wife and homemaker. Rose moved to Pine Bush in 2001 to be with her daughter. She enjoyed people, long rides, dining out, her greatest joy was life and the love of family. We will miss our mothers laugh, love and smile, she was not only a mother but a friend. Her yearning to see her mother was satisfied. At peace with her self and her God. Will be missed by all who knew her. Thank you to Ashly Lyon, her care queen and everyone from Hospice who participated in making her final days comfortable and happy. Rose is survived by her daughter, Lauren Traver and her husband George and his children, Timothy and Lori Traver of Mohonk, George and Lisa Traver of Wallkill, Kathy and Sonya Traver of SC, Rose was a great-grandmother to their 5 children and great-great-grandmother to their 2 children, brother-in-law Frank Svitak, daughter-in-law Joan Marvel, 2 grandsons, Iand and his wife Deidra, Walter Marvel IV and his wife Susan, several nieces and nephews. Rose was pre-deceased by her husband Walter Marvel Jr. and her son Walter Marvel III. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, April 7,2017 at 10:30am at St. Francis Church, Benkard Avenue, Newburgh. Burial will follow at St. Francis Cemetery, New Windsor.
