Robert A. Haessler, an Area Resident, Dies at 50
Robert A. Haessler, 50, an area resident and formerly of Valhalla, died on December 30, 2017 at his home following a long illness.
Born in Tarrytown on November 8, 1967, he was the son of Thomas and Barbara (Garbarini) Haessler. Bob had been employed with Metro North Railroad for the last 15 years, most recently as a Supervisor. He was a past President of IAM Local 753. While living in Valhalla, Bob volunteered with the Valhalla Fire Department. He enjoyed working on cars and vacationing on the beaches in Delaware; however, more than anything, he loved spending time with his wife and family.
In addition to his parents, Bob is also survived by his wife, Cheryl (Bocker); his children, Samantha Haessler, Liam Brodie, Kelsey Brodie, Kaitlin Haessler, and Madison Brodie; his brother and sister-in-law, Thomas and Janice Haessler; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The funeral service will be on Friday at 11:30am at the funeral home with Rev. John Young officiating.
