The Denny's in Newburgh, along with all of the other Denny's locations across the country, is participating in a cross-promotion with the new Star Wars movie, Solo.

Starting at 9am on Tuesday, customers were able to purchase limited edition Topps trading cards featuring new characters from the upcoming film. While collecting Star Wars trading cards is not nearly as popular as it was in the 1970s, there are still some people out there who continue to hunt them down. This limited edition 12-card set from Denny's is highly sought after by collectors because it's so difficult to complete.

Customers are only allowed four packs per purchase, and each of the packs only contains two cards. The packs are sealed so customers and employees cannot tell which cards are inside. Each pack costs $3, with a portion of the proceeds going towards the No Kid Hungry charity.

According to the packaging, one in every 100 packs includes a special foil version of one of the trading cards. The foil replaces the background of the card with a shiny, reflective surface. One of these rare cards was discovered in a pack at the Denny's in Newburgh yesterday afternoon:

Because only one of these foil cards can be found in every 100 packs, they are valued at $300. Of course, just like anything else, trading cards are only worth what someone else is willing to pay. It's too early to know if the value of this particular card will hold up over time. It may go much lower, or actually even go even higher if not too many of the foil cards are discovered. Collectors may be willing to pay top dollar to complete a set of 12 foil cards.
