Rafael Rosa of Plattekill, a retired deputy sheriff for the Orange County Sheriff's Department and a police officer for the Town of Plattekill Police Department entered into rest January 3, 2017 at home surrounded by his family. He was 69.

The son of the late Isabello Rosa and Maria Iglesias, Rafael was born May 24, 1947 in Las Piedras, Puerto Rico.

He proudly served his country in the US Army during the years of 1983 to 1989.

Survivors include his wife, Myriam Rosa at home; sons, Angel Rosa of Plattekill, Rurico Rosa of Mt. Vernon, daughters; Carmen Rosa-Fashaw of NC, Jasmine Vazquez and her husband, Sammy of Plattekill, Jessica Otero of Marlboro and Jhoselyn Otero of Union, NJ., eleven grandchildren; three brothers and three sisters, as well as nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one brother and two sisters.

Visitation will take place Friday, January 6th from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Crossroads Assembly of God, 7 D'Alfonso Rd., Newburgh, NY.

Funeral service will commence 10 a.m., Saturday, January 7th at the Crossroads Assembly of God , 7 D'Alfonso Rd., Newburgh. Pastor Manny Montalvo.

Burial to follow at the New Paltz Rural Cemetery.
