Everyone is talking about the HUGE Powerball Jackpot set for Wednesday.

As of right now the jackpot is an estimated $1.3 Billion after nobody match all of the winning numbers on Saturday. We did have a Hudson Valley person win $1 Million, no it was not us.

With everyone talking about the largest jackpot in history this is kinda fishy.

According to Fox, Charles Strutt who is a lottery official and has run the Powerball game since its inception has left his position after 28 years, following a jackpot fixing scandal that was uncovered earlier this year.

The scandal involved the organizations head of security, Eddie Tipton, who was found guilty back in July of trying to fix a jackpot in a lottery game called Hot Lotto. The investigation alleges that Tipton and several other people tried to claim a fixed $16.5 million Hot Lotto jackpot in Iowa.

In this case, Charles Strutt did testify for the prosecution, telling them that he believed a person shown on video buying the winning ticket in Des Moines, Iowa was Tipton.

Also back in October the investigators in the case announced they had uncovered new evidence showing Tipton worked with other associates to fix jackpots and claim prizes worth millions of dollars in Colorado and Wisconsin.

Here is how authorities allege the fixing went down, they say Tipton used his access to the association's random number generators to know winning combination of numbers in advance. After that they would play said numbers, collect the prize money and share it with each other.
