A verbal altercation between two people led to a police investigation involving a bomb sniffing dog after a mysterious box was left at a Hudson Valley Supermarket.

On Valentine’s Day, a suspicious package was left with a note on it in the parking lot at the Stop & Shop in the Town of Newburgh. Police shutdown the parking lot as they investigated.

A WPDH listener posted on the radio station’s Facebook page that a man was caught on video tossing a box into the parking lot at the Stop & Shop.

Town of Newburgh Police officials tell Hudson Valley Post that there was verbal altercation in the parking lot between two people.

Police say a note was left on a windshield on a vehicle that belonged to one of the individuals involved that read, “Mind your own business.” A suspicious box was found near the vehicle.

Taking precaution, police shut down the parking lot and a bomb sniffing dog was brought in. The box turned out to be empty.
