A registered sex offender living in the Hudson Valley is accused of sexually touching a sleeping passenger on a flight.

Yoel Oberlander, 35, of Monsey was sitting next to a sleeping woman on a flight from Israel to New Jersey when he allegedly touched the woman’s thigh and breasts.

The woman said she tried to turn away in her seat but Oberlander kept touching her. The victim finally switched seats when her mother, who was also sitting next to Oberlander, awoke and the pair called for help.

According to NBC 4 this is Oberlander’s third sex offense arrest. He was convicted of abusing an 11-year-old girl in 2002. Ten years later he was caught trespassing at a children’s sleepaway camp.

Oberlander faces up to two years in prison and a $250,000 fine if convicted.
