Peter “El Primo” Ramón a longtime resident of the Town of Newburgh entered into eternal rest Sunday, October 15, 2017. He was 82 years old.

Son of the late Narciso and Eugenia (Aponte) Ramón, Peter was born May 19, 1935 in Cayey, Puerto Rico.

Peter was a retired corrections officer for Camp LaGuardia in Goshen. In his prior years he worked for Pace University as a stock manager in Manhattan. He also was involved in the Meadow Hill Homeowners Association, loved to dance the Salsero, traveled extensively, played softball and was an avid Yankees fan.

Survived by his beloved wife of sixty one years, Ana (Lopez) Ramón at home, sons: Peter N. Ramón Jr. and his wife, Gladys Vieux-Ramón of the Town of Newburgh, Edward Ramón and his wife, Jill of Birmingham, Alabama, Robert Ramón of Salisbury Mills, and David Ramón and his wife, Peggy of West Point, Virginia; brother, Aristides Ramón and sister, Mercedes Guevara-Ramón both of Puerto Rico; grandchildren, Iris, Robert, Alicia, Anais, Jasmine, Amanda, Dylan and David and eight great-grandchildren.

Visitation for family and friends will take place Thursday, October 19th from 4 to 7:30 p.m. at White, Venuto & Morrill Funeral and Cremation Service, 188 North Plank Rd. (Rte. 32) Town of Newburgh.

Funeral service will commence following visitation at 7:30 p.m. A private cremation will take place at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
