Olga Sofia Bernabé, a Former Staten Island Resident, Dies at 94
Olga Sofia Bernabé, 94, an area resident since 1987 and formerly of Staten Island, New York died on January 2, 2018 at the Fishkill Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.
Born in Puerto Rico on January 31, 1923, she was the daughter of Paulino and Sofia (Wiscovich) Lopez. A homemaker for most of her life, she enjoyed singing, dancing, and crocheting. More than anything, she cherished time with her sons and family.
On November 11, 1940 in New York City, Olga married Fermin Bernabé II who predeceased her on October 3, 1991. Olga is survived by her four sons and their wives, Fermin Bernabé of Tannersville, PA, Paul Bernabé of Stormville, NY, Steven Bernabé of Hopewell Junction, NY and Robert Bernabé of Myrtle Beach, SC; her beloved eleven grandchildren and 24 cherished great-grandchildren.
Calling hours will be held on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Funeral Service will be on Saturday at 11am at the funeral home followed by interment in St. Denis Cemetery.
