Marie Rider, a Former Kingston Resident, Dies at 82

Marie Rider, 82, formerly of Kingston, passed peacefully Saturday afternoon, January 28, 2017 at Filosa for Nursing & Rehabilitation, Danbury, CT. She was born January 30, 1934 in Brooklyn, the daughter of the late Giuseppe and Lena Verruso.

She was a graduate of Pine Bush Central School and the Moran School of Business. For many years she had worked at Royal Tire Service and then the Children’s Home of Kingston as a bookkeeper.

She enjoyed playing bingo, cards, bowling and spending time with her family and grandchildren,

Marie is survived by her children Donna Hannay and her husband Steven of Shelton, CT. Daniel Van Etten and his wife Lisa of Cross River, NY, Diana Lee and her husband Mark of New Paltz, NY, David Van Etten of Houston, TX., Douglas Van Etten and his wife Valerie of Richmond, VA., Dean Van Etten and his wife Anna Maria of Poughkeepsie, her grandchildren Kassandra and Jason Hannay, Olivia, Samuel, Corey and Victoria Van Etten and a nephew Dominic Crisafulli and his wife Donna.

She was predeceased a sister Margaret Crisafulli and a brother Ralph Verruso

Entrusted to the care of the Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Avenue, Kingston. The family will receive their friends on Friday from 10 am to 12 pm. At 12 noon, a memorial service will be held. Inurnment will be in the Wiltwyck Cemetery Mausoleum
