Police are looking for answers and hoping the public's help as they look for an unknown man who committed an armed robbery at a local Subway.

On Tuesday around 6:30 p.m., a man displayed a knife and demanded money at the Subway sandwich shop in the Patterson Commons shopping center located at 3101 Route 22 at the intersection of Route 311 in the Town of Patterson.

The suspect is described as a white male between 50 and 60 years of old, approximately 5’9” and 200 pounds. Police did not provide a description into what the suspect was wearing at the time of the robbery.

The suspect fled the Subway, in an unknown direction, after he was handed an undisclosed amount of cash.

New York State Police and members Putnam County Sheriff’s Department responded to the scene after a 911 report of the robbery.

The investigation is ongoing. The Sheriff’s Department is requesting that anyone with information contact them at (845) 225-4300.
