Louisa Elizabeth Etinoffe aka“Mama“, of Newburgh, NY, died May 10, 2017. She was 99 years old. The daughter of the late Thomas and Avoyette (Bazil) Etinoffe. She was born July 14, 1917 in the Common Wealth of Dominica.

Mama was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, mother-in-law, and aunt who will be truly missed by all. She was a true prayer warrior and believer of God who blessed all that had the privilege to know her.

Survivors include her children, Philomen Peters (Brooklyn NY) Valerie Harris (Miami FL) Theresa Aird (ST Thomas U.S.V.I) Magdelene Jno-Baptiste (Newburgh NY); grandchildren, Claire Mills, Doris Mills, Jane Alexander, Joan Audain, Tessa Aird-Davis, Deserey Brooks, Bernice Casimir-LoBlack, Janet Peters, Jocelyn Petit, Charlene Brown, Megan Jno-Baptiste; great-grandchildren, Natasha, Kervin, Gregory, Tristan, Caroline, Khadisha, Faith, Chanice, Dillon, Carl, Jason, Malaika, Imani, Dominique, Janisya Re’ange, Tajh Saint-Ange; and great-great grandchildren, Jaziah Harris, Destinee Louisy, Le’Anna Rose Louisy and De’Roy Matthias. She was predeceased by her son Noah Mills, granddaughter Fernandez Mills, and sister Christiana.

Viewing is from 8am-10am on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at New Day Tabernacle Cathedral, 38 Firehouse Rd., Plattekill, NY 12568, where Louisa was a member. Service will start at 10am at New Day Tabernacle, Bishop Christopher J. Hodge officiating. Interment will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Newburgh.
