Jeanne Hoag, a Warwick Resident, Dies at 71
Jeanne Hoag, a 71 year resident of Warwick, passed away at home on October 16, 2017 at home in her sleep.
She was the daughter of Jean and Florence Sailliard, born in Hoboken, NJ, on May 2, 1918.
She was married to Bruce Hoag for 49 years.
She spent many years working for the BOCES Film Library and the Albert Wisner Public Library. After a brief period of retirement, she volunteered to work on a part-time basis with the Wisner Library for several more years.
Early in life, she was a volunteer for the USO during World War II. She loved dancing and met her husband there. She enjoyed gardening and sewing, did a lot of reading and raised many parakeets, all named “Chico”.
Survivors include her daughter, Carol Porvaznik and her husband John of Warwick, NY; son, Robert Hoag of Bristol, TN; grandchildren: Amber Ewing of California, MD, John Porvaznik III of Carey, NC, Carrie Gutierre and husband Adam of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Amanda Hoag of Myrtle Beach, SC; great-grandchildren, nieces and nephew; two brothers: Walter Sailliard of Bernardsville, NJ and Louis Sailliard of Madison, NJ.
A funeral service will be held at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 101 Main St., Chester, NY 10918 at 6:30 pm on Saturday, October 21, 2017.
