You may recall that this time last week, there was a terrible fire in an apartment complex in Port Ewen, New York. Unfortunately, many residents were displaced and lost their belongings. One resident lost her entire art show.

Artist Loses Art Pieces to Fire Right Before Poughkeepsie Show

Earlier this week, the Curio Cabinet of the Hudson Valley shared on social media that the artist they had planned to show in August in their store in Poughkeepsie had lost the intended work in a fire. Kendel of @prettylikethecoffingirls was slated to be the Curio Cabinet's show for this month, but her work was destroyed.

The Curio Cabinet wanted to help Kendel not just rebuild her art portfolio, but also knew that being able to create work during this time would be good for Kendel, so they put the word out. Manny's Art Supply in New Paltz stepped up with a gift card and has agreed to be a spot where others can make art donations.

Kendal now has a $100 gift card to buy what she wants. Manny's Art Supplies on Main Street in New Paltz, NY, stepped up to help. If you want to add to the amount, all you have to do is stop into Manny's or Call and say that you want to contribute to Kendall's Art Fund.

The Curio Cabinet of the Hudson Valley is a store in Poughkeepsie, located at 300 Main Street, that focuses on science, history, and mystery. The collective hosts a variety of curated vendors and artists. They have an in-house custom jeweler. They also host Events and workshops regularly.
